OUR TEAM
Led by local voices.
At EMG Inclusive Supports we are a connected family built on trust, empathy and deep community pride. We believe lasting change begins within—our team is made up of people from the very communities we support. They bring local knowledge, cultural respect and work with care, purpose and a strong sense of responsibility.
Together, we help communities grow their capabilities and shape their own futures.

Laura Shone
Program Coordinator
Laura moved from rural Victoria to the Torres strait more than 20 years ago, and has been working with our organisation for over a decade. Her passion has always been caring for people, and her work allows her to help others, build trust, and support communities across the Torres Strait and NPA to grow stronger. Her role allows her to grow her own skills while giving back to the communities she cares deeply about.
Laura hopes to see these communities grow stronger, more connected, and confident in shaping their own futures. She’d love to see more local people stepping into leadership roles, culture celebrated in everyday life, and families supported in ways that build long-term independence and wellbeing.

Sharon Manas
Team Leader
Sharon brings strong ancestral ties and cultural identity from Dauan Island, Bamaga and the Kubin Village on Moa Island, along with deep local knowledge that enrich our work across NPA.
Her lived experience caring for family members with additional needs, combined with her background working in the disability and aged care sectors, makes Sharon a valued asset to the EMG Inclusive Supports team.
Recently appointed as NPA Team Leader, Sharon shares her position and passion to support people living with disability specifically in remote regions and helping them to reach their goals.
She is committed to educating others on the importance and their role in creating inclusive communities where everyone, regardless of background, feel they belong, are respected and given the resources to thrive.
Although new to the Team Leader role, Sharon is already making a positive impact on staff and clients, building capability and confidence, embedding cultural ways that promote health and wellbeing and helping shape pathways toward a promising future.
